Whipping out a credit card has become such an accepted form of payment that it is almost second nature to some people. The ease of access to credit cards has also made them very attractive and not always for the right reasons. Despite the popularity of paying with credit though, there are a few distinct advantages of paying with cash.
Paying With Cash Can Get You Discounts
Merchants have to pay a fee to use credit card machines and this fee is passed on to the consumer. It is no surprise then that any discounts you may manage to negotiate can quickly fade away when the retailer realizes that you want to use a credit card. Some store owners may even promote the use of cash by offering a small discount as an incentive to pay cash instead of using credit.
